Position overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled Chef to lead our Cantina kitchen - a bustling take-away counter preparing seasonal salads, sandwiches, daily specials, and other goodies. This is a great opportunity to work with amazing local ingredients, support artisan producers, and stretch your creativity with lots of room for growth in the future. In this role you'll provide leadership and direction for staff, ensuring smooth, friendly and efficient operation of the Cantina, maintain existing programs and implement new ones in accordance with the company’s strategic plan. It's also a great schedule - no late nights so you can enjoy your evenings with friends and family!!! Our operation is open Wed - Sun, closed Mon/Tue.

What You'll Do:

• Lead kitchen team in daily menu execution, with special focus on training, efficiency and problem solving • Develop seasonal and rotational menu items using the best local, organic ingredients whenever possible while meeting target food costs • Oversee ordering, receiving, and invoice processing for all kitchen items • Perform regular analysis of sales, food costs, and menu assortment. Update regular and special menu items based on sales, seasonality, and other factors, with special consideration of holidays, special events • Maintain highest standards of food quality, kitchen cleanliness and safety

What You Bring:

• 4+ years kitchen or foodservice experience in a Management or Supervisory role • Strong communication skills both written and verbal • High level of comfort with recipe development, food costing, and sales analysis • Top notch food production skills and an ability to teach others your tricks • A strong passion for local, organic food. And everything must be delicious! • A flexible, positive attitude. You want to build a team and help them thrive!
