Equator Coffees is a coffee roaster, retail operator, and coffee farm owner headquartered in Marin, CA. Founded in 1995 by Brooke McDonnell and Helen Russell, Equator's commitment to a sustainable, transparent approach spans more than two decades. Today, Equator operates five cafes in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2016, the U.S. Small Business Administration honored Equator by naming us the "National Small Business of the Year."​ Since our founding Equator has been a leader in sustainability and social responsibility. In 2011, Equator formalized its commitment to sustainability by becoming a certified B Corporation, making it the first California coffee roaster to do so. Position overview

Reporting to the Roastery Operations Manager, the Production Associate will support Equator’s operations by fulfilling orders in an accurate and timely manner. A successful candidate has a strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, be proactive, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy physical work.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work as part of fast-paced team to fulfill wholesale and retail orders accurately and efficiently. • Learn to use and successfully operate the weigh and fill machines, band sealers, scales and grinders. • Communicate with team members on a regular basis to ensure accurate fulfillment and production. • Show initiative, present a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take direction.

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

• Familiarity with fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse work • Coffee knowledge a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical tasks described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and read. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, stooping and crouching throughout the shift. The employee must frequently lift or move items weighing 40 pounds. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
