Crafty’s mission is to help companies craft better workplaces. We work with offices to elevate happiness by providing snacks, beverages, alcohol, and cool happy hour events! When we first launched on December 1, 2015, our business was a craft beer marketplace that delivered delicious, small-batch local craft beers to offices throughout the city. We have since evolved into a food, beverage, and events management platform for offices in Chicago. Some of our biggest name customers are Google, Uber, Yelp, Salesforce, Trunk Club, WeWork, and Coyote Logistics! From hot coffee to cold brew coffee, from kegs of craft beer to bottles of Bud Light, from LaCroix to Coke Zero, from coffee cups to plastic silverware, and from fully stocked office kitchens to poppin’ events and tastings, we offer a truly comprehensive product portfolio.

Position overview

Crafty is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to become an instrumental leader within our team. Your primary responsibility will be to run point on Crafty’s operational and strategic financial endeavors. We have experienced substantial growth since launch, and over the past 6-months, we have dedicated significant focus in building out scalable infrastructure around our day-to-day financial operations. This infrastructure is comprised of robust local accounting and HR partners. By managing our partners who operate Crafty’s daily financial operations, our new Director of Finance will be well-positioned to stretch their creative muscles and help steer Crafty towards greater scalability, increased profitability and long-term success across multiple business units and geographies. Our partners operate key financial functions: payroll, AP, AR, and month-end closes, to name a few. In addition to overseeing the execution of those functions, there are a number of responsibilities that our Director of Finance will lead: 1. Establishing, monitoring and enforcing procedures that span the business at-large + Department budgets + Equipment purchases + New client budget assignments 2. Investing and securing creative avenues that project and earn exceptional returns + Debt financing + Strategic investments and acquisitions 3. Collecting, interpreting and preparing key financial data to report the financial condition of the company + KPIs + Expansion projections and growth rate models + Weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end internal report outs + Monthly investor report outs + Bank report outs as needed 4. Ensuring compliance with legal requirements by consulting with outside advisors and researching current and newly passed legislation + Recommending operational improvements + Communicating the impact of new legislation to the broader team

Who we are looking for

Your experience (preferences, not requirements): + Master’s Degree in business, financial, or related fields + CPA / CFA / CMA + 5+ years experience managing an accounting function or finance department + 5+ years in public accounting *If you’re someone with no experience in this role but plenty of experience getting up to speed at a steep learning curve, that experience counts. Your proficiencies: + Quickbooks + Microsoft Excel + Tableau
