Reporting directly to the SF Regional Retail Manager, the Retail Manager is directly responsible for the coffee bar’s overall operational and financial success. Whether behind the bar or a computer screen, they hold themselves to the highest standards for quality, service, and professionalism. They are charged with building a skilled and passionate team and leading that team with compassion and care.
-Assumes responsibility for all daily operations of the coffee bar. -Manages all front of house operations, including customer service, beverage preparation and presentation, merchandising, and workflow. -Manages all back of house operations including scheduling, ordering, and banking. -Develops, improves, and implements effective store policies. -Offers relevant and thoughtful strategies for improving operations. -Coordinates with the Regional Retail Manager to build and maintain a culture of excellence.oo -Utilizes, guides, and elevates supporting management. -Oversees all coffee bar employees, including hiring and terminations, evaluating work performance through regular reviews, disciplinary actions, and promotions. -Supports staff in practicing, through training and demonstration, proper store procedures including proper cash handling, punctual attendance, high product standards, and all other operational best practices. -Constantly strives to inspire the team through thoughtful coaching. -Responds to all customer and staff inquiries with patience, confidence, and professionalism.
-Possess high level written and verbal communication. -Possess a broad and deep understanding of our product line, coffee production, processing, and preparation, and a willingness to learn. -Ability to maintain a positive demeanor while employing a sense of urgency. -Has a logical and methodological approach to problem-solving. -Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality. -Resourceful in challenging situations. -Motivated, energetic, flexible, professional, and dedicated. -Practice good judgment in all situations. -Be a representative of Sightglass at all times when dealing with wholesale clients. -Possess a California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
