Our Maison Bleue location in Walla Walla is searching for an energetic, team player and customer-focused individual to join our team of wine enthusiasts! This is a part-time position working 10-25 hours a week
Primary Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions
•Greet visitors to the tasting room and pour wine for tasting. •Promote the sale of wine, non-wine merchandise and the Wine Club. •Describe wines, wine making techniques and winery history. •Provide general tourist information. •Handle routine purchasing transactions, which includes operating cash registers and accounting for daily sales throughout the day. •Prepare shipping documentation and special items, when applicable, and ensure that wine is shipped to reciprocal states only and that correct shipping procedures are followed. •Perform open and closing procedures, which may include locking/arming the facility, reconciling poured wines, counting cash, balancing registers, and ensuring that daily receipts are properly secured in the safe. •Process wine orders. •Maintain non-wine merchandise, which includes folding clothes, stocking shelves, etc. •Maintain supply of clean glasses, washing and drying racks of glasses throughout the day. •Maintain daily supplies, which include bags, wine carriers, shippers, brochures, etc. •Expedites and runs food in absence of food runner. •Assist with monthly wine inventory. •General housekeeping responsibilities, which include cleaning work area, wiping counters, dusting, busing tables, refilling water stations, etc. •Assist with On-site events. •Conducts daily tours as assigned •Assist with other duties as necessary. •Supports Company’s effort to create a more sustainable, cross-cultural and “green” environment.
Designated Associates may:
•Serves as the person in charge of the Tasting Room when Tasting Room Manager or Retail Operations Manager is not present. •Assist TR Manager and Retail Operations Manager with special projects as assigned. •Assist in planning On-site events and festivals •Assist with the orientation and training for new TR Associates.
•Attends or leads the meetings as indicated on page one. •Review meeting minutes of prior meeting(s) and have addressed those issues assigned to them by the next meeting or have a reason why unable to do so.
Must have: •Excellent, detail-oriented customer service & time management skills. •Excellent written & verbal communication skills. •The ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, and build dynamics and synergy across departments. •A valid/current MAST Server’s Permit & Food Handler’s Card or willing to obtain them. •The ability to use point-of-sale (POS) systems, Google services, & Microsoft Office Suite
Must be able to
•Able to stand for long periods of time & work in a fast-pace environment. •Available to work peak tourism & traffic times including holidays, weekends, & evenings. •Available to work on-site events. •Flexible & willing to work in a continually changing environment. •Lift 40 lbs. •Able to work in & around a winery cellar with occasional exposure to fumes & noises relative to normal winery operations.
•1-2 years sales/wine experience •Willingness to learn about wine & wine making processes. •Genuine interest in the luxury wine business & terminology.
