Position Overview: Provides warm hospitality to members, owners, and guests while driving wine sales revenue. Supervises, leads, and trains the Tasting Room team. Serves as the Tasting Room Person in Charge when Tasting Room Manager is not present.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions

●Provides warm hospitality to members, owners, and guests while driving wine sales revenue. ●Supervises, leads and trains Tasting Room team. ●Serves as the Tasting Room Person in Charge when Tasting Room Manager is not present. Job Responsibilities Include: ●Greets guests and guides them through a wine tasting experience. ●Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history. ●Handle routine purchasing transactions, which include operating cash registers and accounting for daily wine, food, and merchandise sales throughout the day. ●Promote the sale of wine, non-wine merchandise, Ownership, and the Wine Club. ●Point of contact for customer service issues in tasting room during shifts. ●Responsible for conducting Private Tastings as assigned. ●Work to promote new ideas to increase monthly sales and improve On-Site Events. ●Works to find educational and training opportunities for TR associates. ●Conducts monthly inventory in conjunction with Tasting Room Manager. ●Perform open-of-day procedures, which include opening building, preparing for daily service, opening registers, and ensuring the opening checklist is properly followed. ●Perform close-of-day procedures, which includes locking/arming the facility, reconciling poured wines, counting cash and balancing registers, ensuring that daily receipts are properly secured in the safe, and that closing checklists are properly followed. ●Prepare shipping documentation and special items, when applicable, and ensure that wine is shipped to reciprocal states only and that correct shipping procedures are followed. ●Maintain a supply of clean glasses, washing and drying racks of glasses throughout the day. ●Maintain daily supplies, which include bags, wine carriers, shippers, brochures, etc. ●General housekeeping responsibilities, which includes cleaning work area, wiping counters, dusting, etc. ●Assist with other duties as necessary. ●Supports the Company’s effort to create a more sustainable, cross-cultural, and “green” environment.

Requirements

Must have: ●A minimum of 2 years of experience in wine, bar, restaurant, or hospitality industries. ●Supervisory experience. ●A valid/current Food Handler’s Card or be willing to get one prior to opening. ●Excellent communication skills. ●Highly developed organizational and time management skills. ●Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, including the ability to lead and delegate tasks with effective follow-up. ●A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. ●Ability to use standard CRM, Microsoft Office Suite, Google services, POS, and department-specific related software programs. Must be able to: ●Lift 40lbs. ●Stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment. ●Work weekends and evenings. ●Work on-site winery events and Wine Club parties. Most of these events are held over holiday weekends such as Memorial Day and Thanksgiving. ●Communicate through active-listening skills and gather accurate insights to human behavior. ●Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner. ●Multitask, work independently and as part of a team. ●Build team dynamics and synergy across departments. ●Work well behind the scenes using discretion and keeping all information confidential. ●Meet and exceed sales goals. Must be ●Independently motivated to identify and resolve issues, at department-level.

●Thorough understanding or a genuine interest in luxury wine business and terminology. ●Ability to educate customers about wine with passion, not pretension.
