Willamette Wineworks is searching for an energetic, team player and customer-focused individual to join our team of wine enthusiasts! Position Overview: ●Manages the winery's sales and marketing efforts in the assigned areas to increase placements, depletions and customers for life at all levels of distribution, sales and consumption through effective contact management. ●Increases sales of Willamette Valley Vineyards products through national account restaurant, grocery and chain off and on-premise placements. ●Builds relationships with regional and national chains. ●Identifies and executes on Direct Sales opportunities in the marketplace. ●Envisions, implements, and successfully builds and nurtures long-term relationships with Willamette Wineworks and Willamette Valley Vineyards customers. ●Communicates with the Sales Coordinator, Offsite Event & Demo Coordinator, and the Ambassador Team.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions Product Distribution/Sales

●Leads wholesale sales efforts in assigned states to increase sales, points of distribution and brand awareness in on-premise, off-premise and chain accounts. ●Identifies high potential accounts and chains and pursues the placement. ●Prepares, assists and/or makes presentations to on and off-premise accounts. ●Pursues authorizations, placements, floor stacks, cold box, displays, ads, etc. ●Works with NBM’s and distributors to present our wines to chain buyers. ●Performs staff trainings, incentives, tastings, dinners etc. to support and leverage placements in off-premise, on-premise and Mark Wine Group Placements. ●Performs demos in key accounts and coordinates with distributors on inventory, demo staffing, and demo staff charges. ●Meets or hosts calls with distributor annually to discuss goals, programming and project depletions for the following year. ●Updates distributor contacts, account contacts, and brand champs in Greatvines. ●Assists in monitoring and maintaining distributor inventories to support programs and avoid out-of-stocks. Assist with establishing allocations, monitor balances and communicate with distributors to manage results. ●Recruits additional market support as needed, trains and supervises in-market activities of others in the territory

Requirements

●Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and time management skills. ●Ability to multi-task and work independently or as part of a team. ●Comfortable speaking in front of large groups and making presentations. ●Computer literate, familiar with Excel, Word & PowerPoint, and willing to learn WVV’s POS, WineDirect E-winery, Great Vines and other computer programs. ●Able to communicate through active listening skills and gather accurate insights into human behavior. ●Independently motivated to generate sales for Willamette Valley Vineyards. ●Able to lift 40 lbs. Distributor Relations/Communications: ●Assists the Sales Coordinator & NBMs in managing distributor and sub-jobber (if applicable) relations, managing customer relations, and communication surrounding market visits on a national level. ●Assists in the communication & support of departmental goals for local distributors while in market ●Reviews specific distributor performance, goals & special programming prior to travel ●Updates distributor contacts, account contacts, and brand champs in Greatvines. ●Identify top accounts and support placements with staff trainings, conducting at least one per month. Travel ●Makes travel arrangements for approved travel. ●Uses guidelines in the National Sales Pre-Travel Checklist, and the National Sales In-Market Sales Trip Checklist while planning and conducting business in a market. ●Completes and sends (email) a Trip Report, recaps and expense report to appropriate distributor managers, work-with reps, Sales Coordinator, NBM and Sales Coordinator and other market visit reports/documents per P&P’s. Direct to Consumer Sales: ●The primary function of this position is to contact customers 1st: by phone, 2nd: by email, and 3rd: by mail to generate sales. Invite your customers to taste and purchase wines. You will need to be available for them when they come in, when possible ●Plan and schedule wine tasting events in the community. ●Execute scheduled wine tastings, exposing wine enthusiasts to our brand. ●Follow up with customers to ensure wine was delivered and they are satisfied. ●Contact customers for wine re-orders. ●Keep database updated of all customer information and build a history. Include phone #, address, credit card #, wine preferences, frequency of purchases, gift buying info, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Mention these things when contacting them. Continually update customer information for accuracy. Take care of any duplicates in the point of sale system. Send duplicate account numbers to the manager to merge. ●Assure all orders are placed in a timely manner, shipping details sent to customer, notes are placed in customer CRM accounts and required Daily Tracking Sheet google doc is filled out, and request lead as customer. ●Send correspondence cards to your clients; within reason. Sending personal touches like a handwritten thank you card, birthday card, anniversary card, etc will help to nurture your long term relationship. ●Create and hit monthly sales targets.

●Thorough understanding and genuine interest in luxury wine business and terminology. ●Ability to educate customers about wine with passion, not pretension.
